FIVE DUDLEY
Be totally grateful
around every corner
there is an answer
in every hallway
there is door
on every street there is a savior
every cigarette butt
was once in a persons mouth,
lips have puffed,
lungs have sucked in that tar and nicotine-
for so long
they are breaking down
every poem
every painting
every breath of life
is a gift from the Universe-
A gift to you.
Instead of making you feel more important humanly it should humble you-
Bring you to receptivity-
Sometimes an inspiration carries you all the way sometimes it does not.
I know when you think
you are doing it alone
It stops the flow.
The whole universe
moves in and out of you
underneath the temple
under the skin
When you yield
to the grace of the creative act
it seems to pour through you
in a way your limited being
is only vaguely aware of-
Every moment is loaded with potential
and possibilities
of almost infinite good things.
You must not limit the good,
hoard it,
spend too much time
dwelling upon it
you must let it keep coming through you.
You must be an antennae
through which all the channels pass.
Do not feel special
because you are creators of art
or works that touch people-
If others recognize this
the tendency is to feel self important.
You are something.
This is the exact opposite
of what you should do-
You should
Acknowledge
you are just a faucet
through which the ocean flows
You are a receiver of the infinite wave.
The more you do this
the more you can create
good moving works of art-
good films
inspiring songs,
stirring painting and sculpture.
The more you touch
and tell the human story-
LOVE breaks into the finite -
You can transform every day into beauty
and mystery-
Life is such a grand miracle.
Do not resist this
if it strikes you
as against you-
It is for you-
It is your deepest urging-
To be unique you must not be elite.
You must be silent,
still,
open
Who gave you the bones and bloodstream
The the nerves that have become you-
The force that moves
thoughts and feelings
through you.
The center where all the Universe comes together within your individuality-
Your awareness of yourself -
You are-
Why do you applaud a kind person
as much as you do?
Isn't that the way
you all should be?
When you over compliment someone-
When you act
as if it is rare and unique to be kind
and in this world it seems to be
but it should be the norm.
There is noise all around-
voices and plates
are clanging into each other
but you are very quiet and still
in the midst of this cacaphony
of vibrational imperceptibility.
A world of silence
and a world of sound unite-
Side by side-
Existing in time and space
that is the same-
Now-
Take this moment-
dig deep into it.
It is bottomless-
This is where life occurs as you-
Let it open up into infinity-
Into no sensation of passage
or hours weaving-
Live in eternity-
Cherish each act of life
Each activity-
They are all eternal-
Savor each lunch,
Each dinner,
The one tonight at 5 Dudley
where Michael Wilson
creates the poetry of soft shell crab
so tasty so good to eat
that it almost melts in your mouth-
Escargot and French onion soup
that writes a poem within you-
The magic ingredients
that make you feel
how wonderful the experience of life is-
The chocolate dripping with peanut butter chocolate ice cream-
The black berries-
The Hazel nut-
A hundred tastes and smells
all together in a symphony of delight
that is hard to describe it is so good-
Words can not come close-
Who can describe
a snail wrapped in pastry dough
with delicate sauce,
the taste of cantaloupe,
orange and pineapple
linger on your taste buds
taste the brush of chocolate
ever so subtle
against the fruit-
Slow it down-
Where are you rushing to?
Let the stillness reveal
everything that you need to be and know
your body-
Hold the memory of pain ,
bruise and strain-
Within them you must Learn to lessen them-
Cut them loose-
Let them go-
unclench them-
Relax whatever is tense within you-
Let it go
until you can breathe a normal breath-
This is the key
to abundance-
To enjoying your life.
